Two weeks ago I was out at one of Beijing's finer bars. One of our crew was wearing a standard-issue suit coat, tactfully adorned with a small Doraemon button on his lapel. For the entire evening random women would come up, touch the button, and start talking with him about the little cat from the future.
It was literally the closest thing I've ever seen to an actual "Chick Magnet" in action. The only thing that would make it more of a Chick Magnet would be if were actually made of some sort of fourth-dimensional magnetic alloy pulled straight out of Doraemon's pocket!
I asked him this weekend if he was aware the little button's power or had he stumbled upon "his precious" purely by accident? He admitted he was initially unaware of the power until he actually wore the button. He rightfully enjoyed the attention at first, but that now its power is so overwhelming that it is attracting all women to him. Now when he goes out, women come up, touch the "magnet," and then scurry back off to their boyfriend. No more small-talk, no possibility for future "doraemon over coffee" date, nothing.
So I ask the question: Could this power be more effectively harnessed so that it can only target single women?
